News Synopsis

Diipa Büller-Khosla, a South Asian social media influencer and entrepreneur, will launch Inde Wild, a skincare brand, exclusively on beauty and lifestyle e-tailer Nykaa in India. The launch comes as a slew of international beauty brands, including Canada's The Ordinary, enter the domestic market in collaboration with Nykaa.

Inde Wild debuted in the United States and Canada in October 2021, followed by the United Kingdom. SoGal Ventures led a $3 million investment in the company, which is valued at $30 million. “In the first quarter, we did about $500,000 sales. It has since steadied.  Our expectation is that India will be one of our biggest markets,” Khosla said.

India is one of the markets in which the brand has a strong belief because there is so much potential in the beauty customer, which has evolved significantly in the last few years as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, she explained. Khosla stated that the brand has no plans to expand beyond Nykaa in the near future. “In the future, we're open to expanding retail partnerships as well as launching our own stores...,” she said.

“Premium efficacy-driven skincare is witnessing tremendous growth in India. At Nykaa, we are constantly scouring the globe for brands that we believe will garner consumer love for their ethos, innovation, and efficacy,” Anchit Nayar, CEO - of e-commerce beauty, Nykaa, said in a statement.
