News Synopsis

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the names of the Players of the Month nominees for the month of August, given to players for their performances every month. While the ICC has named England's Test captain Ben Stokes, Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza, and New Zealand's Mitchell Santner in the men's category, in women's cricket, India's star batsman Jemima Rodriguez , Australia's Beth Mooney, and Tahlia McGrath have been included.

It is noteworthy that Ben Stokes has been nominated for his match-winning innings played in the second match against South Africa, while Sikandar Raza has been nominated for his consistent performance for Zimbabwe. Mitchell Santner has performed brilliantly for New Zealand with bat and ball, due to which his name is also included in the race. Whereas Jemima Rodriguez, who performed brilliantly for Indian women's cricket during the Commonwealth Games held in the month of August, is being considered the frontrunner for the women's player of the month award. Jemima performed brilliantly for India in the Commonwealth Games played in Birmingham and played an important role in reaching the final. At the same time, Jemima scored 146 runs in 5 matches for India and was ranked fifth in the list of highest run-scorers.

The winners will be announced next week by an independent ICC Voting Academy and fans all over the world. Fans who have registered at icc-cricket.com/awards can vote until Saturday.
