Hyundai Plans to Launch its Premium Electric Car IONIQ 5 in India in 2022

Hyundai has announced that it is planning to launch IONIQ 5, its first fully electric SUV in India in 2022. The EV was previewed at the 45 EV concept car at the 2019 Frankfurt motor show. Hyundai is planning to launch at least six models by 2028.

The SUV is built on an electric skateboard platform. The car also features a flat floor with flexible seats that can be moved and reclined. The car also has a display for AR functions, driver assistance and more. The interior upholstery is made from recycled bottles and paperette.

Hyundai IONIQ 5 has two variants for powertrain, single and dual motor. It has two versions of the battery as well. A 72.6kWh and 58kWh. The larger battery offers a maximum range of 481km, and the smaller one offers a maximum range of 358km. It also comes with 800V battery technology that allows rapid charging.

Hyundai is aiming at a particular set of customers with its EV along with other affordable options in the future. It has yet not been revealed, the price for Hyundai IONIQ 5, but the car is expected to have a higher price range.
