“There is some novelty to it and they need that kind of innovation to show their capabilities,” Jeronimo said. “It will drive everyone’s attention. Whether it translates to sales when they launch it, it will be a hard sell, especially if it is a high price or bulky phone.”
Memory Chip Shortage Adds Market Pressure
Honor’s announcements come amid an ongoing global shortage and sharp price increases in memory chips. Industry experts expect this to push device makers toward higher retail prices in 2026, potentially affecting consumer demand worldwide.

Honor Magic V6: A Slimmer Foldable Flagship

Honor stated that the Magic V6 measures 8.75 mm in thickness when closed — slimmer than its predecessor, which ranged between 8.8 mm and 9 mm. The thickness is comparable to that of an iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Performance and Battery
The device features one of the largest batteries currently available in a foldable smartphone and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform — one of the latest processors from the U.S. chipmaker Qualcomm.
The Magic V6 will be available in China starting March, with international launches planned for the second half of the year. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
Honor’s Market Position
According to Counterpoint Research, Honor ended the year as the sixth-largest smartphone vendor in China, holding just over 13% market share.
Internationally, the company remains a smaller player. Data from Omdia shows Honor captured a 3% market share in Europe in 2025. However, it entered the top five smartphone brands in the region for the first time toward the end of the year — largely driven by sales of lower-priced devices.
The Robot Phone and Magic V6 signal Honor’s push toward higher-margin premium products, especially in overseas markets.
