News Synopsis

The solar panel planet being set up by petro giant BP at the cost of $285 million at Pueblo in an area of 1800 acres is said to be the world's largest single customer solar energy plant in the world. Apart from the fact that steel is a building component of any economy, it is also the third-largest contributor of global greenhouse gases on the planet. If a country is to produce steel domestically, they are able to cut down emissions that surround the oceans from steel-producing countries like China and South Africa.

This initiative by the petro giant, BP, will be a first step to decarbonize the steel industry wherein companies come together to offer solutions to a greener planet. This practice is already in action in Sweden where they have cut down emissions burnt by steel production, and have labeled this production as “green steel”.

Sustainable practices across such global industries will bring about better results for the planet. A huge nod of tribute to Bighorn Solar, for stepping in this direction and shifting to a carbon-neutral world.
