News Synopsis

Owned by India’s largest ed-tech startup BYJU’S, Singapore-based ed-tech platform Great Learning has acquired Superset. The superset is a talent recruitment automation platform. The amount at which Superset was acquired by Great Learning is not disclosed yet. After the acquisition, Mohan Lakhamraju, founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of  Great Learning said: “Superset is a strong and strategic fit for Great Learning. The guiding philosophy of both companies has always been aligned towards bridging the gap between education and employment. Superset will propel Great Learning’s efforts to bridge the gap between students, professionals, and employers by streamlining campus placements and simplifying hiring processes for colleges, students and companies”. Great Learning was acquired by BYJU for $600 million last year. Great learnings said that the acquisition will help to propel it further in the edtech industry. Great Learning was founded in 2013 and it offered higher education to students in technology, data, and business. It has collaborated with famous institutions around the globe to offer these courses such as Stanford University, MIT, The University of Texas at Austin, Wharton Online, National University Singapore, IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee, IIIT-Delhi, Shiv Nadar University, and Great Lakes Institute of Management.
