News Synopsis

The British e-bike maker, GoZero has formed a partnership with Kolkata-based Kirti Solar for product development and manufacturing. The company also announced its plans to invest $1 million for its expansion to the northeast states of India.

The company entered the Indian market in 2019 by setting up its location operations base in Kolkata with Kirti Solar. The current range of the company includes One, Mile and Skellig series of e-bicycles.

With the electric vehicle revolution taking place in India, Go Zero Mobility has also tapped into the opportunity to expand its presence in the country’s northeastern region. The co-founder of the GoZero Mobility Sumit Ranjan has said that India is one of the largest two-wheelers and bicycle markets in the world.

He further said that northeastern India is a strong market for e-bikes, which has been remained untapped and the company sees significant demand for its product in the region.

It is targeting a sale of 15,000 units with its presence in the northeast region. A large amount of investment will be used to create a retail flow in northeast India. The investment will also enable local forces to partner for e-bikes as tourism presents a lucrative opportunity and demand for e-bikes in the area. It has already invested $250,000 for the development and manufacturing of products and utilising the global supply chain in the ‘Make in India’ mission.
