Google Cloud announces Price Hkes

In a surprising move, when all the major cloud storage providers are offering discounts on their services, one of the most popular cloud storage platforms around the Globe- Google Cloud has announced that it has significantly increased the price of its core services such as storage, compute and networking. These price hikes will be effective from October 1 this year. Sachin Gupta, Vice President, and GM, Google Cloud Infrastructure in his statement said: "While some customers may see an increase in their bills, we're also introducing new options for some services to better align with usage, which could lower some customers' bills. We're working directly with customers to help them understand which changes may impact them." Google Cloud said that the impact of the price hikes will depend on customers' use cases and usage. Core storage features, like multi-region Nearline storage, will see at least 50 per cent price increase. However, Some of the changes will also provide new, lower-cost options and features for Google Cloud products. Mr. Gupta further said: "Other changes will raise prices on certain products. Ultimately, our goal is to provide more flexible pricing models and options for how customers are using our cloud services."
