News Synopsis

Snap Incorporation, the Parent company of popular social media platform- Snapchat is increasing its employees to fuel its growth ambitions in areas like augmented reality, short-form video, and original shows. Snapchat has been on a roller coaster ride last year. It witnessed both highs and lows. New advertisers came in huge numbers to the popular platform early last year, but Snap's stock later fell as the company grappled with supply-chain issues and advertising challenges caused by Apple's new iOS user-tracking policies. Snap's revenue increased 64% year over year, and daily active users of Snapchat, rose to 319 million in the fourth quarter, up 20% from the previous year. Recently a report of the US Department of Labor's Office of Foreign Labor Certification, shows how much Snap offered to pay employees who it wanted to hire in the US through work visas. The company offered certain US employees between October 2020 and December 2021 base salaries ranging from $50,315 to $500,000 a year for various roles — and even $1.95 million for one, according to the data. The median annual salary was roughly $157,000.
