News Synopsis

The social media platform Meta (formerly Facebook) has begun sending users notifications about privacy policy updates. The company said on Thursday that the update will begin on July 26th.

Starting today, notifications users receive on Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger will guide them through information about what they can expect from your region's relevant privacy policies and terms of service. Users will also see an overview of the differences. These updates will be available on July 26th.

Meta also announced that it will also be updating its ‘Terms of Service’ to explain to it and those who use its platforms. The updated meta-privacy policy applies to Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and other Meta products. It does not cover WhatsApp, Workplace, Free Basics, Messenger Kids, or Quest devices without a Facebook account with their own privacy policy.
