ESPN to Release NFT Collection Featuring Tom Brady

ESPN is entering the NFT market under its deal with NFL legend Tom Brady, who runs his own NFT platform. The sports channel signed a multi-year deal with his company, Autograph. Both the companies have yet bot disclosed the financial terms of the agreement.

NFTs are blockchain-based tokens that give owners rights to art, music and other collections primarily to a digital representation. According to a nonfungible.com report, NFT trading volumes increased from $ 82 million in 2020 to $ 17.6 billion in 2021.

The first NFT collection of ESPN with Autograph is focused on the ESPN documentary series “Man in the Arena: Tom Brady,” that was premiered in November. Tom Brady will also sign 50 NFTs for the first collection. 

The collection includes three ESPN zine or specialised magazine covers based on Brady’s career. The second NFT collection with the theme"Back in the Arena" will be released with the debut of the 10th episode of the documentary on ESPN+

Autograph, the NFT platform was launched in July 2021 and sells collectables from celebrities and sports icons. Tom Brady announced his retirement in February to focus on his NFT platform. But in March he announced that he will be returning for the 23rd season of NFL. He is expected to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers later this year.
