Esmito, a smart battery swapping solution provider, has teamed up with ElectricFuel, a leading EV charging services provider, to launch an Energy as a Service (EaaS) platform in the Indian EV market. The primary objective of the partnership is to offer affordable and high-performance battery swapping solutions to EV users. The operations have already started in Bangalore and Hyderabad and will expand across India over the next six months.

Esmito's technology, comprising battery swap stations and a smart management platform backed by its mobile app, will enable ElectricFuel to operate as an EaaS operator. The Battery Swap Stations offer a convenient solution for commercial fleet users, allowing them to swap out their used batteries at a swapping station, eliminating the need for waiting time for charging or carrying spare batteries for each vehicle.

As the central and state governments mandate the adoption of EVs for commercial applications in India, the procurement of these vehicles by potential buyers is a big challenge due to higher pricing compared to the equivalent ICE vehicles. Esmito's battery swapping solution helps delivery partners to spend up to 40% lower upfront cost, and also lowers their operational cost of fuel to about one third of the conventional fuel.

Esmito's swap technology focuses on providing high performance and safe energy to EVs, particularly to the 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers community. The technology enables 24X7 management of battery's safety, its utilization with overall increased operational efficiency aiding in faster adoption of EVs in this segment.
