News Synopsis

Epic Games is working with Lego to create a virtual space for kids. "We look forward to gathering in the Metaverse to create a space in the metaverse that is fun, entertaining and made for kids and families," Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said in a statement. Both the companies have said that they are planning to design a family-friendly virtual space from the start.

Both the companies have said in a press release, “The Lego Group and Epic Games will combine their experience to ensure that the next iteration of the internet is designed from the outset with the wellbeing of kids in mind.”

It makes a lot of sense to combine the two biggest names in entertainment. While Epic Games has extensive knowledge of creating virtual worlds, especially through the popular Fortnite, Lego focuses on video games, with the recent release of Lego Star Wars:  Skywalker Saga this week.

Minecraft and Roblox offer sandbox construction in a style similar to Lego blocks. Epic Games is already discussing creating a more child-friendly Metaverse. The development follows the launching of the Unreal Engine game, the next-generation game creation tool.
