News Synopsis

The Chief Executive Officer of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk took another dig at the board of the microblogging platform, Twitter. Musk said that if his $43 billion takeover bid succeeds, the Board members of Twitter will receive zero salaries. On Monday, the world’s Richest man, tweeted, "Board salary will be $0 if my bid succeeds, so that's $3 million/year saved right there.” Additionally, Musk tweeted an Elvis Presley song, "Love Me Tender", after the social media platform adopted 'poison pill' strategy to prevent Elon Musk from forcefully acquiring it. Earlier, Tesla’s CEO said that the board of the microblogging platform should be more worried about other potential bidders than him who has made a fair offer to acquire 100 percent of the social media platform for $43 billion.

Elon Musk said, "In fairness to the Twitter board, this might be more of a concern about other potential bidders vs just me". Currently, with a 9.2 percent stake in Twitter, Elon Musk is one of the biggest stakeholders in TwitterVanguard Group, an asset management firm revealed last week that its funds now own a 10.3 percent stake in Twitter which makes it the largest shareholder. Saudi Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, who declined Elon Musk's offer, has about a 5.2 percent share in Twitter. According to reports, as Twitter adopts the 'poison pill' strategy, Elon Musk is speaking to investors who could partner with him on acquiring the micro-blogging platform.
