According to reports, Dutch and Swedish dockworkers denied unloading a tanker ferrying Russian diesel in order to show "international solidarity" with the war-affected Ukraine amid the Russian-Ukraine ConflictHead of the maritime division of the Federation of Dutch Trade Unions (FNV), Niek Stam, informed Bloomberg that the tanker, Sunny Liger, was not given entry to one port in Sweden and two ports in the Netherlands.Stam stated, "If dockworkers somewhere else in the world refuse the cargo we will also refuse. We do that on the basis of international solidarity."

According to ship-tracking data from Marine Traffic, the Russian tanker is currently anchored off the coast of IJmuiden. According to Marine Traffic, The Sunny Liger left the Russian port of Primorsk on April 24. It had picked up 60,000 tons of diesel in Primorsk as per the tracking data. The Head of the maritime division of the Federation of Dutch Trade Unions further told that after picking up diesel, the Russian tanker sailed to a port in Sweden, where it was denied entry and was later refused entry from the Dutch ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
