News Synopsis

Union Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on June 18 that 5G deployments will begin in 20 to 25 cities and towns by the end of the year, adding that it will begin in August-September 2022.

India is currently developing 4G and 5G stacks, strengthening its position as the world's trusted source of information in digital networks, Vaishnaw said, countries are interested in the 4G and 5G products and technologies developed by India.

The minister also noted that important regulations are underway to address the one-sided telephone problem. This will allow the caller's KYC ID name to be displayed when someone makes a call, he said.

The Center can auction about Rs 4.3 lakh crore worth of radio waves to provide 5th generation or 5G telecommunications services, including ultra-high-speed internet. It also advocates technology companies building their own 5G networks.

He added that people in cities such as Delhi, Hyderabad, and Mumbai often oppose the installation of mobile towers. He assured us that India's electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation standards are stricter than the set global limits, so there is no reason to worry about this.
