Delhi replaces Bengaluru as the Startup Capital of India

The Silicon Valley of India, Bengaluru is not the startup capital of India anymore. The Annual Economy survey of India has revealed that the national capital of the country, Delhi has now taken the title of the startup capital of India.

The survey said that over the recent years, Delhi has replaced Bengaluru as the startup capital of India with more than 5,000 recognised startups being added in Delhi between April 2019 to December 2021. It also revealed that Maharashtra has the highest number of recognised startups.

According to the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal trade, a company is recognised as a startup till 10 years after its incorporation. These companies should have a revenue threshold of Rs 100 crore.
