Delhi Government Launching a Guidebook for EV Charging

The Delhi government has announced the launch of a guidebook to enable the adoption of Electric Vehicle charging in parking lots of shopping malls in the city. The government is aiming at promoting clean energy with the help of guidebooks.

The document is set to launch on February 4 by the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDC) and World Resources Institute (WRI), India. The guidebook details the processes for effective decision making and sets out the way forward for the planning and implementation of EV charging stations in the parking areas of the malls.

The city is engaged in promoting the adoption of electric vehicles. The government also announced the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy in August 2020 with an aim to make the city the EV Capital of India. It has also provided subsidies for the purchase of EVs with enabling the installation of EV charging points in private and semi-public spaces in the city.
