DeHaat acquires Agri-Input Marketplace Startup Helicrofter

News Synopsis

Agri-tech startup, DeHaat announced the acquisition of agri-input marketplace startup Helicrofter for an undisclosed amount. With this acquisition, DeHaat has expanded its operations to another major agricultural belt. Currently, it serves more than 700,000 farmers in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. 

Helicrofter is a farm input e-commerce platform that was founded in 2020 by Siddhartha Choudhary. The firm deals with the supply chain inefficiencies in the rural ecosystem. It has achieved annual revenue of Rs 50 crore even during the pandemic. 

DeHaat also works to provide farmers with agricultural inputs, an AI-based customised crop advisory on pest and disease management. It aggregates more than 30 crops from farmers on its network and directly supplies it to more than 600 commodity bulk buyers, including retail chains, e-commerce players, FMCG giants and SME food processors.
