News Synopsis

VerSe Innovation, a local language technology provider based in the United States, announced the launch of its vernacular content platform Dailyhunt in the Middle East on Tuesday. With over 5,000 content partners, Dailyhunt has expanded its offering in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, and Kuwait, with its headquarters in Dubai.

According to Umang Bedi, Co-founder of VerSe Innovation, there is a growing opportunity in local language content globally that they hope to capitalize on. "We have been successful in cracking the code of engagement of local language content in India and plan to replicate this success globally as we aim to meet the unmet local language content needs of users world over," said Bedi.

In the future, the company intends to expand Dailyhunt to other MENA countries such as Iraq, Iran, Israel, and Egypt, as well as support languages such as Hebrew, Farsi, and Arabic. Shekhar Iyer, a media veteran, has been named Director and General Manager of VerSe Innovation, MENA.

Every day, Dailyhunt publishes over 1 million new pieces of content in 15 languages, which are licenced and sourced from a creator ecosystem of over 50,000 content partners and a large pool of over 50,000 creators. Every month, it serves over 350 million monthly active users (MAUs).
