News Synopsis

In a shocking incident, a container carrying electric scooters caught fire, This is another setback to the electric vehicle industry in India as in the last few days many electric scooters like the Ola S1 Pro and Pure caught fire in India. The container was carrying around 40 electric scooters and it is reported that the 20 scooters stacked in the upper deck have been completely destroyed. Fortunately there was no casualty or injuries to anyone.

The Union Government has deputed a team of independent experts to investigate the incidents. As per a CNBC TV 18 report, 40 electric scooters from Jitendra Electric Vehicles, a part of the Shah Group were being transported from the Jitendra EV factory in Nashik to Bengaluru when a fire was reported in the upper segment of the container on April 9. The company in its official statement about the incident said: "An unfortunate incident took place on 9th April near our factory gate in a scooter transport container. The situation was immediately brought under control by a timely intervention from our team. Safety being of prime importance, we are investigating the root cause and we will come up with the findings in the coming days.”
