News Synopsis

Former late-night talk-show host turned hit podcast host Conan O'Brien is selling his production company, Team Coco, and its podcasts to SiriusXM in a $150 million deal, according to the Wall Street Journal. O'Brien will executive-produce a new Team Coco comedy channel on SiriusXM, according to a press release issued Monday morning, but the hit podcast "Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend" will remain available on the streaming services where it is currently available.

The agreement stipulates that O'Brien will stay with the company for the next five years. Conan O'Brien has been a fixture in American comedy for a long time, from his influential role as a writer on "The Simpsons" and "Saturday Night Live" to his decades of hosting late-night talk shows on NBC and TBS

"Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend," the podcast he hosts, features lengthy interviews with celebrities. It is one of the most popular podcasts on both Apple's Podcasts and Spotify. Team Coco also produces the hit shows "May I Elaborate?" hosted by JB Smoove and "Literally!" hosted by Rob Lowe in addition to O'Brien's flagship show.
