Classplus becomes the Highest Valued Edtech Startups outside of the Unicorn club

News Synopsis

On Monday, emerging ed-tech startup, Classplus announced that it has raised $70 million in its latest fundraising round. This round of funding was co-led by Alpha Wave Global and Tiger Global. The valuation of the startup after this funding round has reached $600 million. With this, the edtech startup has become one of the highest valued startups outside the Unicorn club. A startup or a company achieves the status of the Unicorn when its valuation crosses $1 billion. Classplus empowers educators and content creators to launch their online classes, create their online presence, digitize their offline tuition centers, and sell their courses online. It was founded by Bhaswat Agarwal and Mukul Rustagi in the year 2018. Chimera Ventures and existing investor RTP Global also participated in Classplus’ Series D round. Chief executive officer (CEO) and cofounder of Classplus, Mukul Rustagi after the fundraising round said: “We’ll be deploying the freshly infused funds to take our product up by notches and expand our presence globally. Going forward, we’ll also be investing in new acquisitions and partnerships that will enable us to continue delivering best-in-class experience to the educators and helping them create an impact in the education system by building bigger and stronger businesses.”
