Bombay Play Raises $7 million in its Latest Fundraising Round

News Synopsis

In its latest round of funding, Hyper-social gaming platform Bombay Play has raised $7 million. This funding round was led by Kalaari Capital and it saw participation from Lumikai Fund, Leo Capital and PlayCo, AdvantEdge VC, and AMEA Ventures. Bengaluru-based Bombay Play was founded by Oliver Jones and Abhas Saroha in the year 2018. After the fundraising round, the company informed that it plans to utilize the funds raised in scaling its existing ‘hyper-social’ game offerings, supporting upcoming projects, and allocating capital toward product development. Its CEO Oliver Jones said: “Our team’s ambition is to disrupt the current casual games market with hyper-social game designs by leveraging our cross-platform distribution channels.” Bombay Play, till now has raised over $9.5 million in funding. Post successful fundraising round, Vani Kola, managing director of Kalaari Capital stated: “We were highly impressed with what Oliver and Abhas have been able to achieve, and they are definitely one of the most experienced gaming entrepreneurs in the country today. We are very excited about how they are disrupting the casual gaming industry with their hyper-social model and are delighted to partner with them in this journey.”
