Bajaj Auto Sales declined by 20% in March

News Synopsis

On Monday, one of the leading two-wheeler manufacturers in India, Bajaj Auto announced its sales number for the month of March. To the company’s disappointment, its sale in march 2021 declined by 20 percent to 2,97,188 units as compared to the year-ago period. In its statement, Bajaj Auto said that it sold a total of 3,69,448 vehicles, including commercial vehicles, in March 2021. In the financial year 2021-22, Bajaj’s sales increased by 8% to 43,08,433 units from 39,72,914 units. Its two-wheeler sales plunged by  22 percent to 2,56,324 units in March as against 3,30,133 units sold in the same month of 2021. Also, its domestics sales in the last month decreased by percent to 1,26,752 units. In March 2021, the company sold over 1,98,551 units in the Indian market. However, there is a negligible fall in the number of vehicles exported in March 2022. This year it exported 1,70,436 vehicles in March, whereas in March 2021, the company exported 1,70,897 vehicles. However, according to the company, its commercial vehicle sales increased by 4% to 40,884 units in March 2022 from 39,315 vehicles sold in March 2021.
