News Synopsis

Parenting platform BabyChakra announced the acquisition of Tinystep, one of the strongest parenting networks of India, to strengthen its growth in the country. With this acquisition, BabyChakra expands its footprint with in-depth access to a robust network of parents across 9 languages. BabyChakra's objective is to reach 75 million mothers by the end of 2022. The companies did not reveal the price of the transaction.

Bengaluru based healthcare and parenting network of Tinystep has provided information, advice across a wide network of parents ever since its inception in 2015. Tinystep also has the largest parenting social follower base of 5 million followers engaging in 9 different languages. 

Suhail Abidi, founder of Tinystep will soon start a new venture. Tinystep will merge its social assets with BabyChakra’s existing platform with an aim to build the largest, most trusted brand in the mom-child ecosystem in India. BabyChakra has a reach of 39 million moms and 10,000 doctors. BabyChakra has also acquired a rich base of 40,000 multilingual content assets through its social assets buyouts.

This is the first acquisition of BabyChakra. It has earmarked Rs 100 crore in building the largest mom-baby network in India. With this acquisition, BabyChakra makes significant progress towards its aspiration to reach 75 million mothers and achieve its goal,

The Indian baby care product market is projected to grow by $10 billion between 2021-2025, reaching a CAGR of over 14% during the forecast period. The market is driven by an increase in penetration and online availability of baby care products and an increasing number of nuclear and single-parent families.
