News Synopsis

The next edition of  Auto Expo, one of the country's leading car shows, will be held from January 13-18 next year after being cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The director-general of the Society of Automobile Manufacturers, Rajesh Menon told PTI, “The Motor Show is confirmed from January 13-18, 2023, at India Expo Mart Greater Noida.”

The last edition of the biennial motor show was held in February 2020 amid concerns about the coronavirus spread across the world. It was scheduled to be held in Greater Noida in February this year but was postponed due to the worsening situation at COVID-19.

Menon stated that the safety of exhibitors, visitors, and all stakeholders attending and involved in the Auto Expo is SIAM's top priority.

In this regard, the Indian automobile industry and SIAM are aware of the risks associated with hosting the Auto Expo due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the fear of a possible third wave.

The Auto Expo saw the total footfalls of more than six lakh visitors. It also witnessed around 70 product launches and unveiled 352 product displays from 108 exhibitors.
