Ather Energy Launches New ‘Infinite Cruise’ Feature for 450X and Apex Scooters
News Synopsis
Ather Energy has introduced a new riding feature called Infinite Cruise for its 450X and 450 Apex electric scooters. Designed especially for Indian city roads and traffic conditions, this system makes everyday commuting smoother and less tiring.
Ather Energy Launches Infinite Cruise Feature
Ather Energy — currently one of the top electric scooter sellers in India after TVS and Bajaj — has launched a special new feature called Infinite Cruise for its 450X series and Apex models.
This feature is now available on both scooters and is designed to make riding more enjoyable and convenient.
The 2025 models of the Ather 450X will receive this feature through an over-the-air (OTA) software update. The scooter will notify users about the feature through a screen notification on the dashboard.
Beneficial for Both New and Existing Customers
Infinite Cruise was first showcased during the Ather Community Day in August 2025, alongside the Ather Apex 450. It has been specially developed considering Indian road conditions and heavy traffic situations.
Now, the feature will be available across different variants of the Ather 450X and on the Ather Apex as well. More importantly, it will also be rolled out to over 44,000 Ather 450X customers who purchased their scooters on or after January 1, 2025.
Currently, the Ather 450X is priced between ₹1.55 lakh and ₹1.80 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Ather 450 Apex costs ₹1.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
How Is Infinite Cruise Different from Cruise Control?
Traditional cruise control systems are mainly designed for highways to maintain a constant speed. However, Infinite Cruise is developed specifically for daily city riding, where scooters usually travel below 30 kmph and speeds must constantly change due to traffic and road conditions.
Unlike regular cruise control — which turns off when you apply brakes or throttle — Infinite Cruise does not switch off automatically in such situations.
Advantages of Infinite Cruise
Infinite Cruise remains continuously active once enabled. It automatically adapts according to the rider’s input. If the rider increases or decreases the speed, the system recalibrates itself to the new speed without needing to be re-activated.
This reduces frequent throttle use, making rides more comfortable and reducing fatigue, especially in stop-and-go city traffic.
Packed With Smart Technology
Infinite Cruise works between 10 kmph and 90 kmph — covering speed ranges that most traditional cruise systems do not support.
Key features include:
-
City Cruise – Adjusts itself to changing speeds in traffic.
-
Hill Control – Maintains consistent speed on slopes or inclines.
-
Magic Braking Algorithm – Uses regenerative braking to control speed safely.
-
Crawl Control – Keeps the scooter stable at very low speeds on rough roads.
