News Synopsis

Tech giant Apple, known for its excellent service, is increasing its control over SMS-based junk messages. Along with this, the company is also providing a new look to message filtering in the iOS 16 beta for developers. The new update allows developers of filter extensions to classify non-personal messages into 12 subcategories within 'Transactions' and 'Promotions'.

As per a report by Tech Crunch, the transactions category includes finance, reminders, orders, health, public services, weather, carriers, rewards, and others and the promotions category includes offers, coupons, and more. Significantly, during its annual flagship developer conference WWDC22, Apple has outlined how developers can include these categories in their SMS filters.

It has been said in this report that even if you are using an iPhone in Dual-SIM mode, you will still be able to filter messages based on the SIM. iOS 16 also introduced support for users to bypass the captcha in supported apps and websites, which can be found in the Settings app. iCloud will automatically and privately verify your device and Apple ID accounts in the background.
