News Synopsis

Apple Inc. gave a glimpse of the next-generation CarPlay system at the Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday. From the infotainment system, CarPlay matures into an all-around in-vehicle software solution that is deeply integrated into the vehicle itself.

CarPlay will be able to deliver content to multiple in-vehicle screens for a unified and consistent experience. Importantly, CarPlay can adapt to different screen sizes and has a brand new user interface that supports the service's widgets.

By integrating CarPlay into the vehicle, users can control the radio and change the climate from CarPlay. Speed, fuel levels, temperatures, and much more are seamlessly displayed in the instrument cluster via widgets.

Personalization is another big feature of next-generation CarPlay. This allows users to choose from a variety of instrument cluster designs to personalize their driving experience. With the addition of widget support, users can quickly get information from the weather and music apps on the car dashboard.

CarPlay is an in-vehicle infotainment interface with an Apple iPhone. The current format overlays the vehicle's onboard display with a simple interface that allows users to get directions, make phone calls, send and receive messages, and tune in to their favorite music tracks.
