Apple puts hold on Foxconn’s Tamil Nadu factory

Apple has put a hold on Foxconn’s Tamil Nadu factory, which assembles Apple iPhones. The company decided to take such a step after the effects of food poisoning were seen in 250 women employees at the facility. Apple has said that it would ensure that strict standards are followed before the company allows it to function again.

There were protests against the company after 250 women were found sick. Foxconn has also claimed to take immediate steps to improve the facilities and to all the standards that are required.

Apple has also sent auditors to check the dormitory facilities at Foxconn as it has received complaints regarding the living conditions at the dormitory too. Foxconn has claimed that it is working with the suppliers to improve the dormitories and the dining room.
