News Synopsis

Tony Blevins, a key member of Apple Inc.'s supply chain operations, will be leaving the iPhone manufacturer, the company revealed on Thursday. The action was taken in response to a popular TikTok video showing the executive making an offensive comment about women.

In response to a question about his line of work, Blevins was heard stating in a TikTok video posted earlier this month, "I have rich cars, play golf and fondle big-breasted women, but I take weekends and major holidays off"

At a car exhibition, Daniel Mac, a TikTok content maker, approached Blevins about participating in a video series in which Mac asks owners of costly cars what their occupations was. Blevins talked off the cuff as he got out of the Mercedes sports car, and both Mac and his companion were laughing.

Concerning the reason for Blevins' departure, Apple made no comments. Reuters was unable to get in touch with Blevins for comment. Bloomberg published a statement from executive Blevins in which he expressed regret for what he called a "mistaken attempt at humour" that may have offended.

Vice President Blevins played an important role in the supply chain management of Apple.
