News Synopsis

As technology enthusiasts around the world are waiting to get a hands-on experience with Apple's mixed reality headset or its new AR/VR operating system Tuesday's new report shows that the company is unlikely to announce it at the Worldwide Developers' Conference (WWDC).

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said on Twitter, “It still takes some time before the Apple AR/MR headsets enter mass production, so I don’t think Apple will release the AR/MR headset and rumored realityOS at WWDC this year. Apple’s competitors worldwide can’t wait to see the hardware spec and OS design for Apple’s AR/MR headset.”

According to a recent report, realityOS has appeared in trademark applications that "are not officially submitted by Apple, but it is common for large companies to apply for a trademark under a former company.

RealityOS-based headsets provide a combination of AR/VR experiences that allow users to immerse themselves in virtual content and overlay virtual elements in a real-world environment.

The board of directors tried out the wearable device earlier this month. The AR headset is expected to sport a sleek design so that it is light in weight and comfortable for the user to roam around for a while.
