The Regional Governor of Lviv informed on Telegram that, on Saturday, Well Renowned Hollywood actress and United Nations humanitarian Angelina Jolie made a surprise visit to the western Ukrainian city of Lviv. According to Maksym Kozytskyy, Angelina Jolie who has been a UNHCR Special Envoy for Refugees since the year 2011 had visited the city to speak with displaced people who have found refuge in Lviv. These displaced people include children undergoing treatment for injuries sustained in the month of April during a missile strike on the Kramatorsk railway station.

The missile strike in the eastern Ukrainian city appeared to intentionally target a crowd that mostly consisted of women and children who were trying to flee a threatening Russian offensive. This attack resulted in the death of at least 52 people. Kozytskyy commented, "She was very moved by stories. One girl was even able to privately tell Ms. Jolie about a dream she'd had." He further told that the Hollywood actress also paid a boarding school, interact with students, and click photos with them, adding "she promised she would come again."
