News Synopsis

Amazon Web Services has stopped taking on new customers in Russia and Belarus. The announcement follows the cloud services provider Oracle, which suspended all its services and operations in Russia, and SAP, which is still serving its existing customers but has stopped accepting new contracts.

Amazon said in its statement that AWS does not have any data centres or infrastructure in Russia, and also has a standing policy of not conducting business with the government of Russia.

It also said that the biggest customers in Russia are companies, that have headquarters outside of Russia. It further said that AWS and Amazon are actively assisting and will carry on to do so in future for both people of Ukraine and around the world.
