News Synopsis

According to a report from Brazil’s Space Research Agency Deforestation has increased by 27%. The report shows that deforestation in 2020-21 was estimated to be 13,235 sq km. Amazon Rainforest, which is home to many species of plants and animals including indigenous people. Brazil has aimed to lessen deforestation by 2030 in COP26.

The deforestation recorded this year is the highest fever since 2006. It is believed that deforestation has seen a rise in the presidency of Jair Bolsonaro. The pledge included the use of almost $19.2 billion dollars of public and private funds for these accomplishments.

Jair Bolsonaro, the president of Brazil has said on his tour to Dubai that he wanted people to know the real Brazil and that 90% of the forests are still preserved.
