Amazon Claims to have Created 11.6 Lakh Jobs in India

E-commerce company Amazon India has completed its nine years in India. On the occasion of its annual event, the company mentioned many things. E-commerce company Amazon India said on Sunday that it has contributed nearly $5 billion in exports so far, employing 11.6 lakh people directly and indirectly in the country. 

The American company said that in addition to this, it has done the work of digitalizing 40 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises in the country. According to Amazon, the employment numbers include direct employment along with multiple opportunities in vendors and related industries such as packaging, logistics, transportation, and distribution. Apart from this, Amazon has also doubled its total export target from India to $ 20 billion by the year 2025.

At Amazon Smbhav 2021 last year,  the company announced the Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund to invest in start-ups and entrepreneurs focused on innovation.

The fund focuses on entrepreneurs and start-ups doing innovative work in the field of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) digitization. As part of the fund, Amazon has already invested in "MyGlamm," "M1xchange," and "Small Case."
