Akasa Air Takes Delivery of First Boeing 737 MAX Aircraft

Akasa Air's first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday, approaching the acquisition to secure the mandatory Air Operator Permit to begin operations.

The airline received the keys for the ceremonial flight in Seattle, USA on June 15, Akasa Air said in a statement. This is the first delivery of 72 Boeing 737 Max aircraft ordered by Akasa Air from Boeing last November.

The airline said in a statement that it welcomed the arrival of the first of its 72 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, in the presence of its leadership team.

Akasa Air added that it is a great example of the progress that Indian aviation has made in recent years,  "this is not only an important milestone for us and the aviation industry in India but also a story of a new India." 

Boeing India President Salil Gupte has said that Boeing is proud to partner with Akasa Air as he embarks on a journey to make air travel comprehensive and affordable for all.
