The aviation regulator of India, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has fined Air Vistara Rs 10 lakh for violating safety regulations. The airline was fined for allowing improperly trained pilots to land with passengers at Madhya Pradesh's Indore Airport.

The officials said the pilot, who was the first pilot of the flight, recently landed the plane at Indore Airport without the necessary training in the simulator first. "This was a serious breach that endangered the lives of passengers," officials said.

First officers are trained to land the plane in the simulator before landing an actual plane on which the passengers are on board. A captain will also be trained in the simulator before being able to give landing instructions to the co-pilot.
