News Synopsis

Nutrifresh is an agri-tech start-up focused on products that are free of residues and chemicals, raising $5 million in pre-series seed funding. the funding round was led by Theodore Cleary, Sandiip Bhammer, Sky Kurtz, and Mathew Cyriac.

The funds will be used to expand farm operations, implement complete product traceability and transparency, and commercialize and create an integrated farm technology platform. Co-founded by two farmers, Sanket Mehta and Ganesh Nikam Agripreneurs' vision is to provide Indian consumers with nutrient-rich, pesticide-free, consistent, hydroponic products.

Nutrifresh has an existing facility that is protected and cultivated using high-quality seeds from Israel and the United States, the air is supplied in a controlled manner, water is RO purified and nutrients are water-soluble. All production is controlled from seed procurement, germination, breeding, harvesting, packaging, and final delivery of the product to the consumer.

Nutrifresh uses 90% less water than traditional farms by implementing a centralized nutrient and pumping system and closed-loop irrigation methods. With more than 80% of the agricultural workforce being women, Nutrifresh aims to train women with the latest technology to achieve complete self-sufficiency.
