Adani Enterprises To Acquire 50% Stake in General Aeronautics

News Synopsis

Adani Enterprises announced on Friday that its wholly-owned subsidiary Adani Defense Systems and Technologies has signed a final agreement to acquire a 50% stake in General Aeronautics, a provider of robotic drones and drone-based crop protection solutions.

According to research firm Research and Markets, the Indian drone industry estimates that the country's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) market would be worth $1.81 billion by 2025-26. Estimated to the Indian Drone Federation this sector will reach Rs 50,000 crore in five years.

General Aeronautics is an end-to-end agricultural platform solution provider based in Bangaluru, India, founded in 2016. It provides robotic drones and drone-based solutions for artificial intelligence and analytical yield monitoring for crop protection services, crop health, precision farming, and yield monitoring by using agricultural intelligence and analytics for the agricultural sector.

In 2019, Adani Defense Systems and Technologies also acquired Alpha Design Technologies Pvt Ltd. Alpha Design Technologies has provided Adani Defense and Aerospace with powerful Tier 1 capabilities to lay the foundation for graduating to platform capabilities.
