News Synopsis

The CEO of the video game publisher, Bobby Kotick Activision has decided to leave the company once the deal of the company is closed with the tech giant, Microsoft. Microsoft has acquired a huge selection of intellectual property and game development resources of the company in addition to its major studios like Blizzard Entertainment and Treyarch.

Both the companies have agreed on the departure of Bobby Kotick once the deal closes which would take up to 12 to 18 months. The individual will still serve as the CEO of Activision Blizzard along with his team to drive efforts to further strengthen the culture and accelerate the business growth of the company. 

Once the deal is finalised, Phil Spencer will take charge of Activision Blizzard. The Xbox head Phil Spencer mentioned in an email that they are focusing on evaluating all aspects of their relationship with Activision Blizzard along with making ongoing proactive adjustments.
