Zoomcar, one of India’s leading self-drive car rental platforms, has significantly expanded its Home Delivery service. The feature, now available in 14 major Indian cities, enhances convenience for customers and offers greater flexibility for vehicle owners (Hosts) on the platform.
With the improved Home Delivery option, Zoomcar guests can have their rental vehicles delivered directly to their preferred location, eliminating the need to visit designated pickup points.
The service is now operational in major urban centers, including:
Bengaluru
Mumbai
Delhi
Chennai
Hyderabad
Pune
Ahmedabad
Jaipur
Chandigarh
Kochi
Kanpur
Nasik
Vizag
Zoomcar has also announced plans to extend the service to more markets by the end of August.
Zoomcar has introduced several operational upgrades to improve the way Hosts (vehicle owners) manage deliveries.
Previously, Hosts had to choose between enabling delivery for all bookings or none at all. The new system provides greater control, allowing Hosts to:
Define custom delivery zones on a map
Specify delivery availability based on time of day
Temporarily pause delivery without removing the vehicle from the platform
This flexibility is designed to encourage broader participation from vehicle owners, leading to more vehicles being available for rental.
Zoomcar’s updated delivery model has already shown promising results:
10% increase in Host engagement since the rollout
Higher booking reliability across the platform
Vehicles with delivery enabled continue to record stronger user engagement and conversion rates compared to those without delivery
This demonstrates how convenience plays a major role in attracting customers and increasing Host activity.
To further expand the service, Zoomcar has partnered with third-party driver networks. In cases where a Host does not opt to deliver a vehicle themselves, a professional driver from a partner network can handle the delivery to the guest.
This hybrid fulfillment model is already managing 12% of total bookings and is expected to grow as the network’s coverage improves.
Anirudh Lamba, Head of Brand & Partnerships at Zoomcar, explained the goal behind these updates:
“The integration of flexible Host tools and external driver partnerships is intended to improve access to self-drive rentals while supporting vehicle owners in maximizing utilization.”
Zoomcar currently has more than 40,000 vehicles listed on its platform and serves a user base exceeding 10 million customers across 90 cities in India.
The expansion of the Home Delivery service is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its foothold in India’s fast-growing self-drive rental market.
Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Zoomcar operates a peer-to-peer car-sharing model. The platform allows private vehicle owners to list their cars when not in use, making urban transportation more flexible, cost-effective, and sustainable.
As the Home Delivery service continues to roll out nationwide, Zoomcar remains focused on building features that improve:
User experience
Vehicle availability
Operational efficiency
These upgrades are expected to attract new users and further strengthen the marketplace ecosystem.
