India’s quick-commerce major Zepto is set to expand access to Ayush medicines and wellness products after signing a landmark partnership with the Ayush Export Promotion Council (AYUSHEXCIL). Announced on Wednesday, January 28, the collaboration aims to bring authentic Ayurvedic and traditional healthcare products to consumers through a dedicated digital storefront, blending ancient wisdom with modern, rapid delivery.
In a major step toward digitising traditional healthcare, Zepto has partnered with AYUSHEXCIL to onboard Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, and Homeopathy (Ayush) medicines and wellness products on its quick-commerce platform.
The partnership seeks to connect millions of consumers nationwide with verified Ayush remedies, while simultaneously empowering small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operating in the sector to scale digitally.
By integrating traditional medicine into a modern delivery ecosystem, the initiative aligns with India’s broader push for digital inclusion in healthcare and wellness.
As part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), Zepto will launch a dedicated Ayush storefront on its platform. This section will enable easy discovery and purchase of:
Ayush medicines
Herbal supplements
Wellness products such as oils, powders, and tonics
The curated storefront aims to ensure authenticity while offering the speed and convenience of quick commerce.
AYUSHEXCIL will play a critical role in maintaining trust and standards on the platform. Its responsibilities include:
Recommending verified Ayush manufacturers
Reviewing educational and product-related content for accuracy
Promoting adherence to recognised standards such as the AYUSH Quality Mark
This structured approach helps address concerns around counterfeit or unregulated products in the wellness market.
Zepto will handle:
End-to-end logistics
Platform marketing and visibility
User-friendly digital interfaces
The platform’s strength lies in its ability to deliver products often within minutes, helping Ayush brands tap into the rapidly growing quick-commerce ecosystem.
The partnership directly benefits Ayush MSMEs, many of which were earlier limited to offline retail or niche e-commerce platforms. Through Zepto, these manufacturers gain access to over 10 million monthly active users, allowing them to compete in the fast-paced digital retail space.
“This partnership will enable Ayush products to reach every doorstep swiftly, fostering self-reliance in healthcare,” a Zepto spokesperson noted in the official statement.
Beyond sales, Zepto and AYUSHEXCIL will jointly focus on consumer education through:
Social media campaigns
In-app notifications
Educational videos
These efforts will highlight product benefits, correct usage, and authenticity—helping younger, tech-savvy consumers better understand traditional Ayush systems.
To ensure consumer confidence, the collaboration mandates regulatory compliance and quality certifications, reducing risks associated with counterfeit products.
Industry experts note that this structured digital presence could also support Ayush exports, as AYUSHEXCIL’s global network combines with Zepto’s technology-driven supply chain.
With India’s Ayush market projected to reach $10 billion by 2025, the partnership taps into growing post-pandemic interest in wellness, preventive healthcare, and natural remedies.
The Zepto–AYUSHEXCIL partnership represents a unique convergence of ancient healthcare systems and modern digital infrastructure. By making trusted Ayush products available via quick commerce, the initiative redefines how traditional wellness reaches Indian households—from metro cities to tier-2 and emerging urban centres.
