The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing for the grand Mahakumbh 2025 by establishing a luxurious tent city in Prayagraj. This initiative aims to accommodate the millions of devotees expected for the religious gathering, showcasing the state's commitment to enhancing the experience for visitors.
The luxury tent city will be set up in Sector 20 (Arail) of the Mahakumbh Mela area. The project is spearheaded by the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (UPSTDC) in partnership with six key collaborators: Aagaman, Kumbh Camp India, Rishikul Kumbh Cottage, Kumbh Village, Kumbh Canvas, and Era. This collaboration highlights the scale and importance of the project.
With the goal of hosting an estimated 45 crore visitors from 75 countries, the tent city will provide world-class accommodations. The tents will be designed to meet five-star hotel standards, offering premium amenities to ensure the comfort of all guests. The city will feature four categories of accommodation: Villa, Maharaja, Swiss Cottage, and Dormitory. Prices for these accommodations will range from Rs 1,500 to Rs 35,000 per day, ensuring there is something for every budget.
The tent city will feature a range of accommodations, including:
Villa Tents: 900 square feet of space for a luxurious experience.
Super Deluxe Tents: Ranging from 480 to 580 square feet, these tents will offer top-tier comfort.

Additional charges ranging from Rs 4,000 to Rs 8,000 per guest will apply to tents excluding dormitories.
The tents will be operational from January 1 to March 5, 2025, during the Mahakumbh event. Pilgrims can easily book their stay via the UPSTDC website or through the Mahakumbh app, ensuring a seamless booking process. The booking system will cater to the large number of pilgrims expected to attend the event.
Each tent will be equipped with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay, including:

Double Beds and Mattresses
Sofa Sets and Writing Desks
Electric Geysers
Fire Extinguishers
Quilts, Blankets, and Mosquito Nets
Wi-Fi Access

The tents will offer scenic views of the riverbank, providing a tranquil environment for relaxation after the day's spiritual activities.
Apart from providing accommodation, the tent city will also offer packages that include information about yoga, cultural events, and significant religious and historical sites in Prayagraj and its surrounding areas. This will further enrich the spiritual journey for all visitors attending the Mahakumbh.
In preparation for the event, the Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has declared the Maha Kumbh area in Prayagraj as a new district. This step is expected to streamline administrative operations and ensure smooth management during the event, contributing to a more organized experience for the vast number of devotees.
The Mahakumbh 2025 is scheduled to begin on January 13, 2025, and will conclude on February 26, 2025. The event, held once every 12 years, is expected to draw millions of pilgrims from across the globe, making it one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.
