Vivo has launched its new 5G smartphone, the Vivo Y500i, in China. The device comes with a massive 7,200mAh battery, a 120Hz display, and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, making it a strong mid-range contender in its segment.
Vivo has launched its new smartphone, the Vivo Y500i, in China. The information has been revealed through a dedicated microsite on Vivo’s official website. The phone is currently available for purchase via Vivo’s online store in China.
The Vivo Y500i is offered in three color options and multiple RAM and storage variants. The phone is 8.39mm thick and weighs around 219 grams. Its biggest highlight is its large 7,200mAh battery.
The Vivo Y500i starts at CNY 1,499 (approximately ₹19,000) in China for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant.

8GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 1,799 (around ₹23,000)
8GB RAM + 512GB storage: CNY 1,999 (around ₹26,000)
12GB RAM + 256GB storage: CNY 1,999 (around ₹26,000)
12GB RAM + 512GB storage (top variant): CNY 2,199 (around ₹28,000)
The phone is available in Galaxy Silver, Phoenix Welcome Gold, and Obsidian Black color options.
The Vivo Y500i is a dual-SIM smartphone that runs on Android 16-based Origin OS 6. It features a 6.75-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720 × 1570 pixels. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate and offers a screen-to-body ratio of around 90.6 percent.
The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, built on a 4nm process. It includes two performance cores clocked at 2.2GHz and six efficiency cores running at 1.95GHz, along with an Adreno 613 GPU.
The phone comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
On the back, the Vivo Y500i has a single 50MP rear camera with autofocus and support for up to 10x digital zoom. For selfies and video calls, it has a 5MP front camera. The device supports video recording up to 1080p resolution.
The phone is also rated IP68 and IP69, making it highly resistant to water and dust.

The Vivo Y500i is expected to compete with smartphones such as the Redmi Note 15, Realme Narzo 80 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy A35. With its large battery and modern features, it could have an edge over many rivals in its price segment.
