Vivo is preparing to introduce its next-generation V-series smartphones in India with the upcoming Vivo V70 series. The Chinese phonemaker has officially confirmed two models — Vivo V70 and Vivo V70 Elite — marking a significant step up for the popular mid-premium lineup.
The V70 series brings a refreshed design language, flagship-grade performance upgrades, and enhanced camera capabilities, while continuing Vivo’s long-standing partnership with Zeiss optics. Here’s everything we know so far about the Vivo V70 series ahead of its India launch.
The Vivo V70 series launch microsite is now live on Vivo India’s official website, offering the first official glimpse of the upcoming smartphones. The device showcased features a new square-inspired camera module housing a triple rear camera setup, moving away from the vertically-aligned pill-shaped design seen on the Vivo V60.
Vivo is also introducing a new Passion Red colour option, adding a premium visual appeal. However, Vivo has not yet clarified whether the showcased model is the standard V70 or the higher-end V70 Elite.
Vivo has confirmed that the V70 series will feature an "aerospace-grade aluminium frame", aimed at improving durability and structural strength. In addition, both models will come with IP68 and IP69 ratings, offering high-level protection against dust, water immersion, and high-pressure water jets — a rare feature in this segment.
The signature ring light flash and Zeiss branding continue to be part of the design language.
Photography remains a major focus for the V series, and the V70 lineup continues that tradition. Vivo has confirmed that the Vivo V70 Elite will feature a triple rear camera setup, consisting of:
50-megapixel primary sensor
50-megapixel 3x telephoto lens
Ultrawide camera
On the front, the V70 Elite will sport a 50-megapixel selfie camera, making it suitable for high-resolution selfies and video calls. All camera sensors carry Zeiss branding, ensuring tuned colour science and optics.
According to Vivo, the V70 Elite will support 4K HDR video recording, although it is currently unclear whether this feature will be limited to the primary camera or extend to other lenses as well.
One of the biggest upgrades in the Vivo V70 series is performance. Vivo has officially confirmed the chipset details:
Vivo V70 Elite: Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC
Vivo V70: Powered by Snapdragon 7 Gen 4
This marks a significant leap over the Vivo V60, which used an older mid-range chipset.
Both smartphones will feature LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, offering faster app loading speeds, smoother multitasking, and improved gaming performance. For comparison, the Vivo V60 was limited to LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage.
The Vivo V70 series will sport a 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and vibrant visuals. Vivo claims a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, making it one of the brightest displays in its category.
The V70 Elite will also introduce an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is faster and more secure than the optical fingerprint scanner used on the Vivo V60.
Both devices will pack a 6,500mAh battery, paired with 90W fast charging support. Vivo is also adding bypass charging, which allows the phone to draw power directly from the charger during gaming sessions, helping reduce heat and battery wear.
Vivo has not officially announced the India launch date yet. However, according to Smartprix, the Vivo V70 series is expected to launch next month.
As for pricing, while Vivo has not shared official details, reports suggest that the Vivo V70 Elite may be priced under Rs 55,000, positioning it as a strong contender in the premium mid-range segment.
