Vivo has officially launched two flagship smartphones in India — the Vivo X200 FE and the Vivo X Fold 5. Both devices belong to Vivo’s premium X-series lineup, with the X200 FE targeting users who prefer compact devices with flagship specs, and the X Fold 5 appealing to users interested in foldable innovation and multitasking power.
The X200 FE — where “FE” stands for Fashion Edition — is not to be confused with Samsung's Fan Edition branding. It features a small form factor but delivers big in terms of hardware, particularly with its massive 6,500mAh battery and triple rear camera setup.
The X Fold 5, on the other hand, is Vivo’s latest foldable phone and a strong competitor to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7. It brings significant enhancements in durability, performance, and multitasking software without compromising on battery or build quality.
The Vivo X200 FE starts at ₹54,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. A 16GB + 512GB version is priced at ₹59,999. Sales begin from July 23, 2025.
The X Fold 5 is available in a single configuration with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, priced at ₹1,49,999, with general availability starting from July 30. Pre-orders for both models are now live.
The Vivo X Fold 5 doesn’t aim to be the lightest or thinnest foldable. Instead, it focuses on usability, durability, and performance. It is the world’s first book-style foldable with IPX8, IPX9, IPX9 Plus, and IP5X dust resistance ratings.
It features a dual-cell battery setup with 3,275mAh + 2,725mAh capacity, totaling 6,000mAh, and supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.
Despite its size, the device remains manageable at 9.2mm folded, 4.3mm unfolded, and 217g in weight. It has a 6.53-inch cover display and an 8.03-inch main LTPO OLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Both screens support Dolby Vision.
The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, paired with UFS 4.1 storage.
The X Fold 5 comes with a triple rear camera setup co-engineered with ZEISS:
50MP Sony IMX921 primary with OIS (f/1.57)
50MP periscope telephoto with 3x zoom and OIS
50MP ultrawide with a 15mm f/2.05 lens
It also houses two 20MP selfie cameras, one on the outer display and another on the inner screen.
Running on Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15, the device offers a unique multitasking experience through Origin Workbench, allowing up to five apps on-screen at once. There’s also a quick shortcut button, similar to Apple’s Action Button, for user-defined tasks.
The X200 FE aims to be a performance-packed compact device. It sports a 6.31-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits (1,800 nits in HBM).
It runs on MediaTek Dimensity 9300 Plus, paired with a massive 6,500mAh battery and supports 90W fast charging (no wireless charging).
On the back, the X200 FE features:
50MP wide camera
50MP 3x telephoto lens
8MP ultrawide sensor
On the front, there's a 50MP selfie camera.
The phone measures 7.9mm and features military-grade drop protection, with IP68 and IP69 ratings. It’s available in Amber Yellow, Frost Blue, and Luxe Gray color options.
Conclusion: Flagship Versatility from Vivo
With the launch of the X200 FE and X Fold 5, Vivo aims to solidify its position in both the compact flagship and foldable phone segments. Both devices offer cutting-edge features, durable designs, and advanced camera capabilities, all backed by competitive pricing and early availability.
