VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has partnered with EV charging solutions provider Statiq to bolster the electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India. This strategic collaboration aims to support the adoption of Eicher's newly launched Pro X range of Small Commercial Vehicles (SCVs) by making charging more accessible, efficient, and seamless for users.
Through this partnership, Statiq will provide VECV’s EV customers access to its aggregated network of over 8,000 charging points spread across India. These charging stations, sourced from multiple leading Charge Point Operators (CPOs), will now be available to Eicher electric truck and bus users, significantly improving nationwide connectivity and ease of operation.
One of the key highlights of this collaboration is the integration of Statiq’s extensive charging network into VECV’s “My Eicher” app—an industry-first connected fleet management solution. This will provide commercial EV operators with:
Real-time visibility of nearby charging stations
Smart navigation assistance
Transparent tariff information
Such integration is expected to enhance operational planning and reduce range anxiety for commercial fleet operators.
Under the agreement, Statiq will become one of VECV’s preferred partners for the supply and installation of both AC and DC chargers. This ensures end-to-end support and a consistent charging experience for Eicher Pro X electric vehicle customers across all regions.
To accelerate the shift toward electric mobility, both VECV and Statiq plan to introduce promotional campaigns and preferential tariff plans exclusively for Eicher truck and bus operators. These offers are designed to make EV ownership more attractive and economically viable for small fleet owners and transporters.
VECV and Statiq will jointly establish a comprehensive support system for EV customers that includes:
Dedicated call center support
Troubleshooting and repair services
Ticket management and resolution
Ongoing charger maintenance
A shared Point of Contact (POC) for faster issue resolution
This support ecosystem ensures uninterrupted vehicle operation and maximum uptime.
To enhance the convenience of long-haul and inter-city transporters, Statiq will map and highlight well-equipped charging hubs—featuring robust infrastructure and adequate parking—on the My Eicher app. This functionality will be extended across various commercial vehicle segments.
Beyond just providing access to its existing network, Statiq and VECV will execute turnkey EV charging projects, including the installation, operations, and long-term maintenance of new charging stations. These projects will target underserved regions and high-traffic routes, further strengthening India’s growing EV ecosystem.
To incentivize the development of EV infrastructure, the partnership will also introduce shared infrastructure models, including:
Mobile charging units for on-demand charging
Revenue-sharing partnerships with third-party landowners or businesses willing to host charging stations
This model is expected to significantly lower entry barriers and expand coverage, especially in semi-urban and rural areas.
Abhishek Chaudhary, SVP – Sales & Marketing, Small Commercial Vehicles, VECV, commented:
“Our partnership with Statiq marks a major step toward strengthening the EV ecosystem for commercial transport. Through the My Eicher app and dedicated support, we aim to provide a seamless experience to our electric vehicle customers.”
Akshit Bansal, CEO & Founder of Statiq, added:
“This collaboration with VECV is a milestone in building a strong, efficient EV charging network. Our goal is to eliminate key roadblocks in EV adoption by offering smart, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.”
Conclusion: A Big Leap Toward Sustainable Transport
With this partnership, VECV and Statiq are not only improving charging access but also redefining the EV ownership experience for commercial fleet operators. By merging robust technology with user-first infrastructure, they aim to accelerate India’s transition to cleaner, greener mobility.
