According to Gaurav Gupta, President, India Two-Wheeler Business, TVS Motor Company, the sporty scooter segment is rapidly expanding.

“There is high demand for sporty scooters in the country, a high-growth segment. The sporty scooter industry is around 70,000 to 80,000 units a month, out of the total 500,000 scooters we sell. Over the last two years, while two-wheeler growth has been 2 per cent, the scooter segment has grown by 6 per cent, and sporty scooters by 11 per cent,” Gupta explained.

TVS Motor has already invested around ₹100 crore to develop the Ntorq 150, highlighting its commitment to performance-oriented products.

Engine and Speed

The Ntorq 150 is powered by a 149.7cc, air-cooled, O3CTech engine, capable of delivering 14.2 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in just 6.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 104 km/h, making it India’s quickest scooter in the hyper sport category.

The scooter brings several first-in-segment features, including:

  • Aerodynamic winglets

TVS’s Future Plans

TVS Motor is not stopping with just the Orbiter and Ntorq 150. The company has announced plans to launch six new Norton Motorcycle models between late 2025 and early 2026, expanding its premium motorcycle portfolio globally.

“In fact, the TVS Ntorq 150 is inspired by the learnings from all our riders and will further strengthen our scooter portfolio. Combining race-inspired performance, advanced connectivity, and first-in-segment safety and control features, the scooter will delight consumers and significantly build brand love,” added Gupta.
